Anna Nuzzo is an international Catholic singer/songwriter from Kenosha WI, USA. Although she has been singing professionally for over 20 years, she credits her Marian Consecration in 2012 for dramatically jumpstarting her fast-growing music ministry.
Anna currently has available three CDS, Be Love: Songs of Faith, Hope and Love, Believe: Inspirational Stories and Songs and Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. She has sung for 25,000 people during the Mercy Sunday Masses at the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA in April 2016. An event that was broadcast live internationally by EWTN. On June 6, 2016 she cantored in Rome at the Mass of Thanksgiving of St. Stanislaus Papczynski, the Marian founder. Cardinal Dziwisz, personal secretary of Pope John Paul II, presided at the Mass.
Here at BibleZon we are pleased to announce that nineteen of Anna’s songs are now available on our Songs App. Recently, Pete Socks had an opportunity to ask Anna a few questions about her ministry.
PETE: How did you get started in the music ministry?
ANNA NUZZO: I’ve been singing at church since I was a little girl – about 10 years old. Then in high school, I began singing professionally for Weddings and Funerals. Fast forward, in 2012, I consecrated myself to Jesus through Mary. And Our Blessed Mother has changed my life and guided me on a mission to spread God’s love and consolation through my music. I wasn’t writing my own songs until then. After my Marian Consecration, I have so far recorded 3 albums in 2 short years! Now, I have been blessed to be singing internationally for Catholic Conferences, Missions and Retreats.
PETE: What inspires you to share your talents?
ANNA NUZZO: What inspires me to share my talents are my devotions to Mother Mary and The Divine Mercy. I have been told that my music is healing people and giving them peace. I am an instrument in God’s hands and I am trusting that He leads me wherever I am supposed to go as part of His plan.
PETE: Can you share a little about your faith journey with us?
ANNA NUZZO: I am a cradle Catholic. But it wasn’t until later in my adulthood that I became hungry for more knowledge about our faith. Also, I realized I was yearning for a closer relationship with Christ. And through my Marian Consecration, our Blessed Mother has brought me closer to her son and to God’s divine plan for my life.
PETE: As a singer, in your opinion, how can music aid in strengthening one’s faith?
ANNA NUZZO: As St. Augustine said, when you sing, you pray twice! I have heard from so many how much my music has really touched them and helped console them. A lot of my music is very prayerful and meditative. I believe that music can touch you in the depths of your heart whereas sometimes the spoken word can fall short. Music can take you to a deeper emotional level and bond people together.
PETE: Nineteen of your songs are now available to users of the Biblezon Catholic tablet. What are your thoughts on technology such as the Biblezon tablet being used in ones faith journey?
ANNA NUZZO: I’m thrilled and honored to have some of my songs on the Biblezon Tablet! I am all for meeting people wherever they are at. And today, technology is where it’s at! In our busy culture, I think convenience is key in helping some people afford the time to educate themselves and grow in their faith journey. Also, being that Biblezon offers a Child Version – now there is no excuse NOT to start teaching your young children about the faith and have fun while doing it! You can spend quality time together and learn about Jesus and how much HE loves us! It doesn’t get much better than that…
